Just a quick note everyone ‘cause I’m busy as can be.
Every gig I played last week was great. Seriously. I mean, I kept waiting for something to go wrong. As a relatively unknown artist at 50, lots of things can happen. Sometimes you don’t play your best (not unique to my age bracket). Sometimes you get caught in front of a crowd that is not there to see you or expected something else (much more common when you are not a big ticket name). As I slowly climb out of the unknown, I’m ready for anything. But all 5 gigs last week were incredible. We had to cancel the “Marcus Backyard” on Saturday in Pittsburgh due to rain. Other than that, man I was happy.
Even had a few lovely places to stay along the way!
Thanks to Al & Shannon, Bob & Barbara at Music in the Gazebo, Timothy (aka Coco) & Aja at Stillwater River Lodge, Bill & JJ and the team at FTS Sound, Fitzgerald’s with Will, Jack, Dee, & Isaac (very humbling comment below - thank you so much Rimas!), Southgate House Revival with Morello, Dave, and Aja, and of course Abby and Jason for the wonderful Hilltop show!
