The last week and a half has been as stellar as you might imagine; seeing old friends, and making many new at a private party, a club I love dearly (The Saxon Pub for 2 Resentments shows and my solo band show Friday night), an outstanding festival I played this year for the second time, and my beloved Purgatory Players raising money and awareness for the Central Texas Food Bank.

As usual, I often hear, “man you are busy,” and “boy you sure do work hard.” These things are thankfully both 100% true. I’ve said it before and I will say it again because it bears repeating that I live a charmed life and any good job is hard sometimes. Hell a lot of the time! Pound for pound, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I mean, maybe I would have gone to business school to finance my career, but other than that, zero regrets. My regrets are only in bad relationships, bad habits, and bad choices but we all have that to deal with eventually I suppose. I am lucky. I try not to take it for granted.

So as always, thank you for allowing me to continue to do what I do.

Coming up this week are couple of duo gigs with my great friend and long-time musical cohort Michael O’Connor in Gruene and in Corpus Christi. We mostly play songs from our two duo albums on these special gigs, and we will have four more performances together across Texas in early December. The rest of the gigs are two new to me venues in Crockett and Dallas, and a really well-known and respected house concert series a little west of Austin (kind of Oak Hill-ish).
