My dearest Plankenpeople,

It’s Saturday afternoon and as I write I’m flying into Austin tonight from Vancouver Island. I am, as always, ready to dive into a week of shows that mean the world to me — including one on my own dang birthday. Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Sunday night: The Saxon Pub with The Resentments
I hit the ground running with a set at The Saxon Pub this Sunday, playing with The Resentments. Sunday Night Services. No setlists, no egos, just a bunch of old friends making something new each night, and some random banter (and gut bursting laughs more often than not). It’s always a highlight of every trip to my other home. I’ll be there for this Sunday and for the 27th as well.

These rooms are special to me. Intimate spaces where I can really share the new songs, the old stories, and maybe a few surprises. Houston show at one of the best listening rooms in the nation (with a Mark Portugal sandwich that will make your big toe shoot up in your boot).

Oh, and yes — if you’ve seen “J. Plank” on the posters lately… that’s me. Just shortening things a bit for the next chapter. You’ll still see Jeff Plankenhorn on the older record sleeves (and in my heart, you will always be my planknpeoples).

Then it’s time for Old Settler’s Festival

On Friday, April 25, I’ll be doing a full band set with a very special guest (Cari Hutson AND a surprise guest mid set) and then Saturday, I’ll play a solo set on one of the second stage. Can’t wait to see friends, hear some incredible music, and soak up the good vibes in Tilmon, TX.

California Tour Tease: May 5–19

After Texas, I hit the road west. I’ll be rolling through California for a couple of weeks — solo shows up and down the coast, just me, a couple guitars, and some of the best rooms I know. Full tour announcement coming this week. The dates are already up if you want to check them out from L.A. to San Fran.
